We’re all guilty of it. As winter continues we shelve all of our colorful clothes and start layering on the blacks and greys. Don’t get us wrong, we love black and grey and much as the next girl, but color is so important to a wardrobe! You don’t have to go overboard with it and walk around looking like Nicki Minaj and CeeLo’s lovechild. Incorporating color into your wardrobe can be done in a chic and stylish way. Check out our pieces below for some colorful inspiration.
Statement earrings have been all the rage this award season! The bigger the better, the more color the better. We are loving this trend and expect to see lots of bold earrings at the Grammy’s and Academy Awards this year. Here are some of our favorite Elephant Heart statement earrings so you can feel like a winner on and off the red carpet!
The 2012 SAG awards brought a bevy of gorgeous gowns and stunning jewelry. With the 2013 SAG awards around the corner, we want to look back on some of the best dressed starlets from last year. Amber Heard looked ravishing in a black cut out Zac Posen gown and delicate cuff. Emily Blunt made her eyes stand out in a green Oscar De La Renta gown. Funny girl Kristen Wiig was demure in a blush toned Balenciaga gown and edgy Fred Leighton Choker. Michelle Williams looked red hot in a lace Valentino gown and Emma Stone showed off her quirky side in Alexander McQueen. Who do you think was the best dressed from the 2012 SAG awards?
We could not agree with this Martin Luther King Jr. quote more.
What do we do for others? Well, the spirit of Elephant Heart is to open our hearts and make a positive difference in the world. One of the projects we are most proud of is our ongoing support of 32nd Street School in Los Angeles.
We give 100% of the proceeds from the sale of our Elephant Heart Greeting Cards, featuring original artwork by 32nd Street Students, to the School to promote Arts Education and purchase art supplies. We have two beautiful sets, each containing 10 assorted cards ($20). Our generous customers have enabled us to give the school over $2400 thus far.
We are always interested in learning about other charities and worthy organizations to help support. Let us know about what groups and causes are important to you, so we can all work together to make a difference and continue to fulfill Martin Luther King’s profound words - what are you doing for others?
Congrats to Carrie Underwood who will be performing at the Grammy Awards on Feb 10! We still love this image of her at the Country Music Awards in Nashville wearing our Elephant Heart Charm Necklace.
Are you excited for Carrie’s appearance?
The Golden Globes brought out some gorgeous gowns and the stars looked stunning as ever. We had to highlight the girls whose looks made us do a double take and inspired us to think of our jewelry! Here’s our favorite looks from the night:
Jlo:
First off, can we please take a moment of silence for Jennifer Lopez in this Zuhair Murad gown. She looks unbelievable! With the gorgeous lace and intricate detail all it needs in a great pair of earrings. Our Twinkle Earrings could be that perfect finishing touch to this stunning feminine look.
Kate Hudson:
Kate Hudson looked amazing in this sexy Alexander McQueen gown. The gold detail on this dress reminds us of our Gold Nugget Earrings. Their size and gold vermeil finish makes them the perfect addition to this look.
Amy Adams:
One trend that was all over The Globes this year was nude, and Amy Adams rocked it flawlessly. This Marchesa gown complimented her skin tone and figure perfectly. We instantly thought of our Cotton Candy Necklace’s delicate rosy-nude qualities. Perfect for this look!
Emily Blunt:
Emily Blunt looked beyond lovely in this yellow Michael Kors cutout dress. We love her idea of color blocking with her red bracelet, but our Gumdrop Bracelet in Amethyst would’ve looked beyond amazing!
Hayden Panettiere:
This gorgeous Roberto Cavalli dress looked incredible on Hayden and really gave her that fresh, and beautifully finished look. We would’ve loved to see her add our Snowfall Bracelet within her stacked bracelet look. Perfect to play up that gorgeous white.
Anne Hathaway:
Another beautiful starlet rocking white that evening was Anne Hathaway. Her sleek Chanel gown made the perfect simple, stunning statement. To stay with her simple look and emphasize the white, our Pearl Drop necklace would be a beautiful finishing touch.
We are loving all the color on the red carpet this award season and we can’t help but think of our kiss necklaces that come in an array of colors. Check out some of our favorite looks from the People’s Choice Awards and the Critics Choice Awards!
As we gear up the 2013 Golden Globes, let’s look back at some of the best looks from 2012. Who do you think was the best dressed starlet?

Looks like our XO kiss necklace is a good “match” for Maria Sharapova! The Tennis star recently wore Elephant Heart’s rose gold XO Kiss Necklace in Glamour Magazine. Maria’s adoration for the “iconic” lips symbol was taken one step further when it became the basis of her new gummy candy line called “Sugarpova”. Maria gets our kiss of approval!

Clothed In Our Good Deeds…
Over these last days since the horrible tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, we’ve been contemplating how we could reach out and offer some small comfort to the Community and in particular, to those families in such excruciating pain who’ve lost their beautiful children and loved ones.
We’ve been thinking about dear friends who lost their 15 month old son in a drowning accident a number of years ago. After his death, their young daughter - in the way only a child can - asked a very compelling and thought provoking question. She wanted to know how they would recognize her brother when they saw him again one day in Heaven. Would he look the same? Would he still be a baby? Would he be all grown up? Out of the mouths of babes. Our friends turned to their Rabbi for guidance.
He shared something very meaningful from the Jewish texts. He said we will know those we’ve loved and lost when we meet again because they will be clothed in the good deeds and acts of kindness that we do in their honor - in their memory.
Over the years, we’ve passed this concept on to many others who’ve experienced loss and they have found great comfort in it.
That is our deepest wish for the Sandy Hook families - that this message will bring them some small measure of strength, hope and healing during these very dark and difficult days.
In loving memory of all those innocent lives lost on Friday, and in honor of their families and all those impacted by this unspeakable act - each of us can perform acts of kindness and good deeds in our own communities.
We can all do something to make a meaningful difference, to reach out and help others in our own special and unique way. If we all do our small part and work together, the sum of those parts, all those acts of goodness can add up to something pretty spectacular.
By doing this, we will reaffirm in no uncertain terms that goodness will prevail, that evil will not win! Mother Teresa said, “we can do no great things, only small things with great love.”
We send you our love, our prayers, our heartfelt support and hope that this poem will touch your hearts and give you some solace and peace.
We are in shock over the school shooting in Connecticut. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families affected by this tragedy. There are no words…..
